Ranger Boats are a popular line of bass fishing boats designed primarily for blackbass fishing. The company was founded in 1968 by Forrest L. Wood in Flippin, Arkansas. Ranger is generally credited with the introduction of the modern bass boat.
The worlds largest recreational boat manufacturer. Ranger is a major sponsor of the Wal-Mart FLW Tour of bass fishing tournaments; the tours initials are taken from Wood, and its championship event is named the Forrest Wood Cup.

Bulkeley was born in New York City and grew up on a farm in Hackettstown, New Jersey where he graduated from Hackettstown High School.[2] Unable to gain an appointment to Annapolis from his home state of New Jersey, he gained an appointment from the state of Texas.[3] Due to budget constraints, only the upper half of the 1933 Academy class received a commission upon graduation. John Bulkeley, noted early on for his intense interest in engineering, joined the Army Air Corps. Like the flying machines of the day, he landed hard more than once. After a year, and because the President and Congress permitted additional commissions in the Navy (as a government plan for additional jobs), Bulkeley gave up flying for the deck of a cruiser, the USS Indianapolis (CA-35), as a commissioned officer in the Navy.

Bulkeley charted an interesting course in his early years and was recognized early on by the Navys leadership. As a new ensign in the mid-1930s, he took the initiative to remove the Japanese ambassadors briefcase from a stateroom aboard a Washington-bound steamer, delivering it to Naval Intelligence a short swim later. Designer and Co-founder of "Mckee Craft Boats"

established in 1966, Henry O. Mckee had not

satisfied his desire to create the ultimate in a

comfortable, dry and stable riding small craft.

Leaving "Mckee Craft Boats" in 1974, he ventured

  out on his own to pursue this vision, and

established Henry O. Mckee & Sons near Bolivia,

NC.

After several years of experimentation, he and his

sons began successfully producing the "Henry O"

in 1983. First came the 150 Challenger and later

the 179 Invader. After realizing that conventional

hull designs were not the answer, he began

creating a radically new and streamlined hull in a

17 model. This hull design proved to be the

fulfillment of Henrys vision, a stable, highly

maneuverable soft dry ride. Later versions of this

innovative design came in 22 and 16 lengths. In

spring of 1989, four models were being produced.

According to biographer Walter Isaacson, former Apple CEO Steve Jobs spent the last several years of his life designing a custom yacht with an ultralight aluminum hull so his family could sail around the world together. Just over a year after Jobs death, the boat, dubbed "Venus," was christened on Sunday in the Dutch shipyard where it was built.

Jobs widow, Laurene Powell Jobs, and their three children attended a ceremony yesterday in Aalsmeer, Netherlands, according to Dutch site One More Thing. Venus was built in the Netherlands by Feadship, with design assistance from noted designer Phillipe Starck. Starck revealed in April that the results of his longtime collaboration with Jobs would be revealed in eight months, suggesting the yacht was finished a little earlier than planned.
