Family owned and operated, Xpress Boats has been building quality aluminum boats in Arkansas since 1966. Starting out in a little schoolhouse in Friendship, Arkansas, Xpress Boats built the first all welded all aluminum boat. Xpress Boats discovered an untapped market in the boating industry and began to make a name for itself.

It was in the late 80s when Xpress Boats transformed the aluminum boat with the creation of the Hyper-Lift® Hull. The first of its kind, this padded hull raised the bar on the performance, durability and style of the aluminum boat. This was truly a defining moment for Xpress Boats. Now boaters had the durability and strength of aluminum with the performance and style that had only been found on a fiberglass boat.

Through the years Xpress experienced tremendous growth, and in 2000 moved its headquarters to Hot Springs, Arkansas. Today, Xpress offers more choices and more value with the expanded Hyper-Lift® Series and the price friendly Super Value Series, Silver Series and Xplorer Series.

The company dates back the late 1970s when John Morris (founder of Bass Pro Shops) came up with the idea of selling a ready-to-fish boat. The hull design was different than other hull designs at the time. It included a custom trailer, fish finder, trolling motor and power-matched outboard motor. The boat was released in 1978, and was met with great success, launching the Tracker Boat company. Over time, Tracker Boats acquired other boat brands and ultimately the Tracker Boat Company became the Tracker Marine Group. George Bass (1771-1803), surgeon and sailor, was born on 30 January 1771 at Aswarby in Lincolnshire, England, the only child of George Bass, a tenant farmer, and his wife Sarah, née Newman. When his father died in 1777 George moved with his mother to Boston. For five years he was apprenticed to the local surgeon-apothecary Patrick Francis, and at 18 he was accepted after examination in London as a member of the Company of Surgeons. Two months later he was again examined and certified as a surgeons mate any rate. Within a week he was in the navy, at sea in H.M.S. Flirt. Late in 1789 he was transferred to the Gorgon and, while it was fitting out at Portsmouth, went to London for another examination which won him promotion to surgeon second-rate. He had brief postings in several ships, became proficient in navigation and seamanship and fluent in Spanish. He possessed some ninety books on many subjects, and through print and spoken word he had learnt much of the Pacific explorers. When he heard that the Reliance was fitting out for New South Wales, he obtained a transfer to her in April 1794, taking with him as personal servant a boy named William Martin. Henry Waterhouse was in command and Matthew Flinders masters mate when the Reliance sailed with Governor John Hunter. They arrived at Port Jackson on 7 September 1795.
