A flat-bottomed boat is a boat with a flat bottomed, two-chined hull, which allows it be used in shallow bodies of water, such as rivers, because it is less likely to ground.

The flat hull also makes the boat more stable in calm water, which is good for hunters and anglers. However this design becomes less stable in choppy water. This is because it causes the boat to travel on the water, instead of through it, as a boat with a rounded or V-shaped hull would.

Flat hulls are simple to construct, making them popular with boat-building hobbyists.

In Britain they came to popular notice during the Planned French Invasion of Britain in 1759, when a large-number of flat-bottomed boats were prepared by the French to ferry their invasion force across the channel and a number were destroyed during the British Raid on Le Havre. The flat-bottoms are mentioned in the song Heart of Oak written by David Garrick during 1759.

Dont know much about this particular boat mfr and thought i would ask here. looking for general opinion of the construction, ride, dry, wet,, resale, performance etc.. My dad lives in jupiter fla. , went to the palm beach show yesterday and put a deposit on a 27 cc w/ t 175 verados. any info good and bad, would be greatly appreciated. thanks. Dan.Ive had a 98 192 Sea Pro with 115 Yamaha for four years.Great boat .The hull rides nice,very fast and very dry modified V.Sea Pro is now owned by Brunswick (They also own Whaler).Sea Pro,05 improved their hull design and sold the old style hull to Sea Boss.The newest Sea Pros are in my opinion one of the best boats for the money. Verados main issue has been that people try to restart them when they are already running because they are soo quite.That boat will have torque comparable to a 2 stroke set up,with better MPG. Good Luck
